The document intends to help Church leadership and Catholic organizations to harness their capacity to respond to problems associated with mining and bring hope to affected communities. As Dr Deneulin stated before a recent conference in Bogotá, "Investment and consumption decisions in Global North churches have massive consequences that people are often not aware of. The Church is in a unique position to build the coalitions needed and integrate grassroots concerns with global policy platforms."

The report thus aims to offer a synthesis of best practices and lessons learned for how Catholic actors and their collaborators can have a positive impact and address the many dimensions of the socio-environmental injustices related to mining. An Annotated Bibliography on ‘The Catholic Social Tradition and Mining’ is available in English  here.
