The Season of Creation Ecumenical Steering Committee, of which Celia Deane-Drummond is a member, has recently announced the theme for 2023: Let Justice and Peace Flow.

An accompanying symbol of a mighty river has also been determined, inspired from Prophet Amos’s quote, “But let Justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” (Amos 5:24). Together, the 2023 theme and symbol call for everyone to “join the river of justice and peace, to take up climate and ecological justice, and to speak out with and for communities most impacted by climate injustice and the loss of biodiversity.”

As part of the launch, a special video has been developed, with ecumenical faith leaders explaining the theme and symbol, and inviting Christians worldwide to start preparing for the Season of Creation.

The Season of Creation is the ecumenical celebration that takes place annually between 1 September  – World Day of Prayer for Creation – and 4 October  – Feast of St. Francis. Further information and resources about how you can participate in the Season of Creation can be found here
