Marianna Beltrami
Marianna holds an MPhil in Nature, Society and Environmental Governance from the University of Oxford. Her research focused on various manifestations of spiritual ecological consciousness within cross-scale Catholic environmental governance, addressing the gap in the study of human geography when it comes to faith and spirituality. Throughout her studies, she contributed to various LSRI projects on integral ecology, including for the John Templeton Foundation research project Gene Drives: Theological, Philosophical and Ethical Perspectives.
Marianna works as a documentary filmmaker and art director specialising in socio-ecological storytelling, bringing together her expertise in community-based environmental governance with visual communication. In 2020 and 2021, she worked at the Vatican Covid-19 Commission at the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, looking at the pandemic through an integral ecology perspective. She also holds a BA in Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick. She is originally from Trentino-South Tyrol, Italy.
In her role as Integral Ecology Media Officer, she focuses on disseminating the Institute’s ethos, research, and activities in accessible ways to a wide range of audiences, advancing the LSRI’s mission to foster dialogue between academic discourse and public understanding on integral ecology.
