The Denis Edwards Visiting Fellowship

This annual visiting fellowship has been established in memory of the late Monsignor Denis Edwards, who was a pioneer in the engagement of theology, science, and ecology.
A professor in theology at the Adelaide campus of ACU, Denis Edwards was a founding member of the International Society for Science and Religion. He wrote 14 books on the dialogue between science and faith, and was a sought-after speaker around the world, particularly in the area of ecological theology and the papal encyclical Laudato Si’. For more information about Professor Edward's life and achievements, you may like to refer to this tribute.

The intention of these fellowships is to support academic research in areas relevant to Professor Edwards’ scholarship, especially the engagement of science, theology and ecology. Applicants are invited from university-affiliated scholars living in Australia, New Zealand, or Oceania.
