Call for Applications: Agro-Ecology Research Intern

The LSRI is offering an exciting opportunity for a research intern to conduct practice-orientated research at Bethany Land Institute in the Luweero District, Uganda, from January to June 2024.

Supervised remotely by Professor Emmanuel Katongole of the University of Notre Dame, US, this internship provides an opportunity to engage in the monitoring and evaluation of an agro-ecology training and formation programme with an integral ecology lens. The internship is particularly suited for graduates working at the intersection of science, agriculture and theology, and seeking integration with a real-world site.

During their time at Bethany Land Institute, the intern is expected to devise a research programme that will include at least the following elements:

  1. Set up research desk to monitor and record data pertaining to agro-ecology techniques in use at Bethany Land Institute.
  2. Develop surveys to monitor and document transformation of values and attitudes of the student cohort.
  3. Coordinate various research activities in relation to the Professor Katongole’s Sowing Hope project investigating the implementation and impact of agro-ecology training and formation.
  4. To work with researchers at the LSRI in Oxford to integrate findings into a larger project mapping agro-ecology initiatives around the world.

Deadline for application has been extended to 27 October 2023. Find out more in the link below.
