Call for papers: Forum of Integral Ecology: Sustainability and Common Good in Latin America, Universidad Iberoamericana Mexico City

The LSRI is pleased to share the news that the call for papers is now open for the Forum of Integral Ecology: Sustainability and Common Good in Latin America / Foro Ecología Integral: Sustentabilidad y Bien Común en América Latina, due to be held on 12th November 2024 at Universidad Iberoamericana Mexico City. This event will be hosted in collaboration by the LSRI and Universidad Iberoamericana.

The Forum of Integral Ecology will be the second event in the LSRI’s Festival of Integral Ecology, a series of events due to take place in different locations worldwide in 2024–25.

The Forum of Integral Ecology: Sustainability and Common Good in Latin America seeks to analyze, from a conceptual and empirical perspective, the scope and challenges of integral ecology in Latin America. It is based on questions such as: How is integral ecology understood? How important has this paradigm become in Latin America? What implications does it have as a conceptual framework in research? How important is it as a guiding framework for actions in protection of the land? What is its relevance in the formation of the next generation? How do different communities incorporate integral ecology into their strategies, practices, and mobilizations? What are the theoretical and practical intersections between Integral Ecology and the Common Good?

The Forum will be held as part of the wider IBERO Seminario del Bien Común / IBERO Common Good Week, which will be held by Universidad Iberoamericana Mexico City from 11th to 14th November. This is a series of events dedicated to exploring the common good and integral ecology as solutions to the global socio-ecological crisis.

Presentations from the Forum of Integral Ecology will be live-streamed, with simultaneous Spanish-English interpretation available.

The deadline for abstract submissions is 16th August. The call for papers is available in English and Spanish. Presenters will be able to present both in-person and remotely.
