Celia Deane-Drummond has been named one of "50 remarkable women" in a list compiled by The Tablet to mark International Women’s Day.

The article entitled, “Our lost leaders”, highlighted the Church’s failure to make full use of the wealth of experience, expertise, and special perspective of women, and listed 50 women who could be occupying important leadership positions in the Church. The article emphasised that all women on the list are ‘living their best lives, and there’s no “second best” for them about how the cards have fallen.’ Rather, it is the Church that has lost out, and that ‘even more than having failed to properly embrace women’s gifts, it has failed to open itself up to being changed by their presence.'

The list of women includes academics and writers; spiritual guides and campaigners: thinkers, teachers, and entrepreneurs.
