Is the suffering of nature, the warming of the atmosphere, and its impact on biodiversity of theological relevance? Moreover, is it a pressing issue for Catholics?

A new research report by the Laudato Si’ Research Institute seeks to outline, from a theological perspective, how the concept of integral ecology as developed in Laudao Si’ can inform the carbon transition framework in the Roman Catholic Church.

The report, Caring for our Common Home in the Church and Beyond: Theological Foundations for a Comprehensive Decarbonisation Strategy in the Catholic Diocese, has been adapted from a report commissioned by the Guardians of Creation project, and was developed by Dr Oliver Putz (Research Affiliate with the LSRI) and Dr Celia Deane-Drummond.
